Since November 2004, Marco Camolese has worked as an Intellectual Property Consultant at Metroconsult. Until 2024, he was the Director of the None (Turin) office, and he is currently the CEO of the firm.
Marco is a patent and trademark attorney registered before the European Patent Office (EPO), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), and the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM). He is also authorized to represent parties before the Unified Patent Court and is also a mediator in civil and commercial disputes.
He is mainly involved in patent consulting in the field of electronics, software, telecommunications, and audio/video coding. Marco has gained significant experience as a Technical Expert at the Court of Turin and also serves as a Party-Appointed Expert in litigation issues.
Education and professional experiences
Marco has lectured on the subject of Intellectual Property at various conferences and seminars.
He is a member of numerous IP associations including AIDB (Association of the Italian Patent Information Users), LES (Licensing Executives Society) Italy, and EPI (European Patent Institute).
Since 2009 Marco has also held preparatory courses (Convey) for trainee Italian patent attorneys and since 2010 is a member of Committee 1 for EQE (European Qualifying Examination).
Before joining Metroconsult, Marco worked for an important intellectual property consultancy firm and has also gained experience in the industrial sector working for Sisvel as head of the MPEG Audio licensing program and for Matra Marconi Space (France) as a software validator.
Marco has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic of Turin and recently obtained a degree in Business Administration at the University of Turin.
Marco has the C2 level of proficiency of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in English, French, German and Spanish and the A2 level in Japanese. He also has a basic knowledge of Russian.
